Dad's Day

I know my Dad will never read this post, but even then i just want to share my thoughts about my Dad on the Father's Day eve.

My Dad is my role model.

He was working in Border Security Force (BSF) as a headconstable. In his career of over 30 years he was posted to all the border areas of India(especially North east and North western India). We never accompanied him as he thought our studies will get affected. My Mom has taken good care of us when he was outside serving the country and has supported him in all respects. He used to come home twice a year for only 15 days. During his visit, he used to get boxfull of sweets and clothes for us. My brother used to hide it well before we find it. We still laugh at it even now when we recall those incidents. When he was posted in Kashmir, i remember he used to get 3 to 4 boxes of Apples which we liked the most. There are many more incidents which are always cherished in our lives.

He never complained about his work and always made sure that our education is never affected. Its only because of his commitment towards his work for 30 yrs, we are in this position and we owe him much more than what we have thought.

All our successes, recognitions and earnings till date were possible only because of him.

Thank you Dad. We all love you and proud of you ... :-)

T's for Life

Of late, i was watching a programme named "LOUNGE" hosted by Rajat Kapoor in NDTV GOOD TIMES.The discussion was on the topic "MEN, WOMEN AND SEX".

The main concern of the topic was how often do men or women talk about sex.

For Men, its very obvious that they talk about it almost everytime, if they dont have anything else to do. For women its not the same, some of them restrain themselves. But, the topic was concluded saying Women too talk about SEX very often (No offense).

But, the one component of the discussion was truely awesome.

A famous sexologist who was a guest in the programme talked about how a relationship between men and women should be. According to him, there are 4 T's which should be part of their lives.

The First one being "Trust" - helps in a strong relationship,

The Next being "Touch" - being affectionate to each other,

The Third being "Time" - giving time to each other and

The last is "Talk" - talk and listen to each other.

Even if one of these aspects are missing, u r missing the whole.

In this fast growing world, people are busy competing with each other. They are missing all these 4 aspects and concentrating on something materialistic.

Hope everyone follows the 4 T's and make their relationship stronger and longer.

Fortunately unfortunate !

Whenever i get into my office shuttle from MG Road, i always sit in the 3-seater hoping some girl will sit next to me and things will work out, i mean my search for a girlfriend. ;-)

But, it always happens wherein two huge guys will sit next to me and never give room for any movement and i will be stuck till i get down or
It happens sometimes wherein a pretty girl sits next to me and will be busy on phone talking to her boyfriend. :-(
or sometimes i will be left alone in the seat which i really enjoy ... like the phrase which says:

"Be alone to be Happy, Be Happy to be Alone"

When am in office, the only place where u get to see pretty girls is CAFETERIA, where i dont go as i dont like crowded places. Nowadays, i join my friend for Lunch where i get to see lotsa pretty girls in the canteen but i end up just looking or sometimes staring at them !

Whenever i crib for not having a girl friend, my friend convinces me saying,

"Being alone is the latest TREND"

Fact !!!

Lately i was listening to a track by Linkin Park called "In the End",he says:

" I tried so hard and got so far
but in the end it doesn't even matter
I had to fall to lose it all
but in the end it doesn't even matter "

This is absolutely true but am not trying hard at all ... :-(

Road to Perdition

Driving on a two-wheeler or rather any vehicle near Jakkur (NH-7) Bellary Road during night time is too risky nowadays. The highway is not illuminated with street lights which makes driving miserable. With the high beam of the vehicles rushing in from the opposite direction, one can't make out the path or anybody who is crossing the road. Even after broadening the National Highway(NH-7) the purpose is not served as the public still uses the same highway to reach the other side of the road. Jaywalking is still prevalent and this leads to unavoidable accidents.

Another major problem is the road connecting the Highway just after the railway crossing(People who travel towards Yelahanka can imagine). This road intercepts the highway from the right side which is "weird" and completely blocks the way for the vehicles coming from the opposite direction which leads to Congestion. This part of the highway is controlled by the Traffic police which is totally needless.

A small underpass can be planned to connect to the highway which will end this confusion and wastage of manpower. Addition to this, the Highways can be barricaded on either sides which will reduce Jaywalking and the road medians should never be intercepted and proper exits can be planned which will avoid the needless traffic.

Government should not merely invest on constructing roads but should also invest on the safety of the citizens.

The Concert Experience

March 17th, 2007 Iron Maiden rocked Bangalore in Palace Grounds, Guttahalli. My friend got me a ticket for the front gallery and i thought that i will get to see the BAND very closely and was excited. By the time we were in Palace Grounds, it was 5:45 and the show was supposed to start by 7:00 PM. The Indian Rock Band, PARIKRAMA was rocking the crowd by their amazing performance. We entered the Front gallery and were shocked to see the crowd. It was filled with more than 20,000 people. Black was the Dress code and i could manage to get an IRON MAIDEN T-shirt from my friend Kanthi which i haven't yet returned ...;-)

We got a place to stand almost 35-40 yards from the stage and settled there:-(. People cheering around wereexcited too. The worst thing was most of them were into Dope and we couldn't bear the smell of it. By 7:30, Parikrama and Lauren Harris, Daughter of Iron Maiden Bassist, Steve Harris were done with their performance. The Crowd started chanting IRON MAIDEN and was eager for their performance. By that time i was exhausted standing there for almost 2 hours.

By 8:00 PM, Iron Maiden took onto the stage and started playing the numbers from their latest Album " A matter of Life and Death". I couldn't enjoy as i had never heard any of them. Then they started with "Fear of the Dark", "The Number of the Beast", "2 Mins to Midnight","Hallowed by the Name" and our Head banging started. It went on till 10:00 PM and i was totally thrilled by their performance.

Bruce was excited too. "SCREAM FOR ME BANGALORE" was all he had to say !

The next morning, i got a severe neck pain .... thanks to the Head banging ... ;-)
